Schmidt opens new London head office as sales grow 35% in a year

One of Europe’s largest home interiors brand has unveiled its new head office and training facility in London – as it also revealed network sales grew by more than one-third for the second consecutive year.

Schmidt’s new headquarters, located in Angel, include a cutting-edge training suite, meeting rooms, and multiple displays of the company’s made-to-measure interiors products.

The office also houses Schmidt’s considerable UK support teams, which assist showroom owners on everything from funding and fit-out through to marketing, sales and daily operations.

The office will host all prospective franchisee Discovery events, where potential dealers can explore the business model, meet Schmidt’s senior team and experience the quality of Schmidt’s products for themselves.

UK country manager Jean-Michel Peragine said: “We plan to double our UK footprint of 32 showrooms in the next five years, and this new base is an exciting step towards that expansion.

“It gives us the opportunity to showcase what makes Schmidt different – the highest quality products, the exceptional support our teams provide our dealers, and the scale of a brand that’s one of the leading interiors companies in the whole of Europe.”

Jean-Michel also confirmed another exceptional year for network sales, which grew 35% in 2022, following a 40% rise in 2021.

“Our diverse range of solutions is bringing plenty of benefits to our showroom owners,” he said. “We’ve seen non-kitchen interior sales increase by more than 50% last year – why would you limit yourself to one room for your income!

“In the same way, we’ve diversified our ranges to suit a wider range of client budgets. The market continues to demonstrate huge demand for the quality bespoke products our dealers sell.”

Next up in the brand’s evolution is B Corp certification, a coveted accreditation which features a detailed assessment of the social and environmental impact and sustainability of a company.
